RONAN – The Lady Hawks never quit trying but finally ran out of games to play at the Western B divisional tournament in Ronan last week. Coach Doree Thilmony and her Lady Hawks opened the Western B with a 61-34 loss to Florence Thursday and were eliminated in a 50-48 loss to District 7B rival Eureka Friday. It was one heckuva ride but the Plains Horsemen were finally pulled off the championship trail for the season in Hamilton and Philipsburg last week. Coach Mike Cole and his Horsemen advanced all the way to the Western C championship game in Hamilton before running into some tough hoop hombres, falling 77-33 to District 14C nemesis Arlee in the title tilt Saturday night.
