    The Noxon Little Cougars Rookies team claimed a 7-4 victory over the Plains McGowan Grocery at Amundson Sports Complex at Plains last Monday. Rookies is only the second level of youth baseball in Montana after T-ball. In Rookies, coaches of the batting team feed a pitching machine. The batters each get five balls pitched.     Eighteen teams attended the KLH Invitational including Hot Springs, Noxon and Plains. The meet was held on Saturday at MCPS Stadium in Missoula and featured some of the top athletes in the state.     The Clark Fork Riverdogs played in the Libby Wood Bat Challenge last weekend, losing a heartbreaking 5-3 matchup in the championship to the Mission Valley Mariners.     During the month of April, students at Thompson Falls Elementary participated in the annual Running Start reading program, designed to encourage students to read for fun.
