Coach Michele Bangen and her Plains-Hot Springs Trotters made softball history for both Sanders County schools with a strong third place finish in the State B-C tourney last week.     The Hot Springs Savage Heat track and field team completed season action at the State C meet in Laurel last week. Freshman sensation Katelyn Christensen was the star of the show for Hot Springs, recording personal bests to win second in the javelin (with a best throw of 127 feet, 7 inches) and fifth in the long jump (16-2.25).     Bear Muscle Fitness duffers flexed their golfing muscles and Sparky’s team members shot the low net to highlight Tuesday Night Men’s League action at River’s Bend last week. Steve Fairbank, Bernie Groshong, Steve Anderson and Cody Mosher covered the links action for Bear Muscle Fitness and Kevin Sparks, Tom Holleran, Mike Thilmony and Doug Czerwinski golfed for Sparky’s.     Whitefish Credit Union and Wild Coyote dominated the action last week and are now on top of the leader board in the Wednesday Night Men’s league standings. Rick Kendall, Randy Hojem, Ron Beaty and Chuck Manry totaled 170 strokes between them as Whitefish CU shot the low team gross, while Gary Thompson, Kevin Sparks, Dave Petteys and Scott Pardee used their handicaps to arrive at the low team net of 141. Being good with the spear throw earned Plains athletes Kaylee Altmiller and Malachi Paulsen berths into last week’s State C meet in Laurel.     Dealney Weltz, Levi Brubaker and Edison VanVleet, three Noxon seniors who will be sorely missed during all of the high school sports seasons beginning next fall, led the Red Devils in the State C track and field meet in Laurel last week.
