    The 2021 Fall Mack Days event on Flathead Lake begins September 16 and will run through Sunday, November 14. The event is sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) and is used as a management tool to reduce the numbers of non-native lake trout in Flathead Lake. This is the 38th Mack Days event and up to $200,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded during the event. A tagged lake trout worth $10,000 will be released prior to the first day of the contest.     The Thompson Falls Rural Fire Department and the Clark Fork Valley Elks have teamed up to commemorate the tragic events of September 11, 2021 on its 20th anniversary.
