According to music teacher Sari MacArthur, the school will be holding another concert Friday, December 17, in the gymnasium. This year the 24th annual Sanders County Historical Society's Gingerbread Contest had fewer houses entered than it has seen in the past, according to Old Jail Museum board member and contest coordinator Teri Johnsen. Despite the rain, this year's Christmas on Main Street parade went off without a hitch. The evening started off with hot dogs and hot cocoa that were served and provided by the Men's Prayer Group. For over 43 years the biggest Christmas bazaar in the county has been drawing people from Noxon to Hot Springs, and even from across the state. This year, the event filled 56 booths, many of which included multiple vendors. Community members participated in the stroll down Thompson Falls Main Street Thursday evening, visiting several businesses that stayed open late to offer Christmas themed family activities, such as crafts and games. Members of Open Door Baptist Church in Thompson Falls are bringing Christmas cheer to children around the world this year. Operation Christmas Child, affiliated with Samaritan's Purse, is a program that helps deliver shoeboxes full of gifts to children in remote areas around the world. The Cancer Network of Sanders County (CNSC) raised $1,610 in its annual Chinese Lantern Launch fundraiser, selling 161 lanterns at the Sanders County Fairgrounds Saturday night, but every cent will go right back into the community, said Shelley Bertrand, president of the nonprofit organization.
