    Ed Moreth|Nov 17, 2022

It might have been the biggest crowd for the Plains School Drama Club, which put on the play "Clue" last week in the school's new gymnasium. It was also the biggest set the students had ever constructed, said Terri Henry, the school's drama coach for more than 30 years. "We never could have done it this big in the pavilion; it would have taken up the whole room," added Henry. Prior to utilizing the new gym, the drama club performed at the fairgrounds pavilion, which is a much smaller area....

  • Rock garden brings color to TF home

    Jennifer Curran|Nov 10, 2022

For some, gardening is a seasonal pursuit, but not for Shari Ganatos. A lifelong resident of Thompson Falls, she and her dog Cooper were fortunate to find a home next to her mom and the house she grew up in. A year ago, after an accident left her with physical injuries, she needed a hobby she could do despite her limitations. Thus her rock garden was born. For Ganatos, it's a labor of love. "No deer or water to worry about and it brings color to the sometimes dismal winter," Ganatos said with a...

    Jennifer Curran|Nov 10, 2022

Being invited to the All-State Band is no easy task, so when senior Alec Sweeden of Thompson Falls High School made the cut, he was elated. All-State is comprised of students from all over the state who auditioned last spring. Sweden's music teacher Brittany Nichols said that because of the auditions being very advanced and competitive, very few students are accepted from class B into the ensemble; the majority are from AA schools. Sweeden said that he was the first student in 12 years from...
