The Lady Hawk softball team is experiencing a bit of deja vu this week. In May of 2023, the Hawks finished fourth in the Western divisional tournament and met Shepherd, the No. 1 team from the east, in the first round of the state tournament. Sanders County has a lot to be proud of when it comes to track and field, with several athletes being crowned divisional champions in their respective events this past weekend. Starting with Noxon's own Ricky Williams, who took first place in triple jump clearing 41 feet 10 inches, Williams would go on to take sixth place in the long jump clearing 19'6". Hawks Aubrey Baxter and Solveig Nygaard took to the Marias Valley golf course in Shelby last Wednesday and Thursday to take on the state tournament where Baxter took sixth place. The Thompson Falls and Plains golf teams took to the road to take on the divisional tournament at the Old Works course in Anaconda on Tuesday.
