    Thompson and Plains took to the road for the Florence-Darby Invitational hosted by the Hamilton Golf Club last week. With over 100 golfers and 10 teams between the boys and girls it proved to be tough competition. Plains did not have enough golfers to score as a team, but Coach Lisa Brown was happy with the efforts of golfers Brandt Snead, Drew Carey and Eleanor Bebb.     The Wild Horse Little Guy Wrestling Club in Plains had its annual after season awards ceremony at Plains School Thursday to recognize the feats of its team. The biggest award — the 2024 Wildhorse Little Guy Wrestling Kenny Lee Marjerrison Award — was shared by two team members, Owen Jermyn and Billyray Holotta. Marjerrison, who passed away in 2017, had been a longtime coach for the Plains High School wrestling team and the Little Guy Wrestling program.     The Plains Trotters took on Mission-Arlee-Charlo (MAC) in their second game of the season falling 1-16. Quickly MAC was able to get on the board, scoring a colossal 11 runs in the first inning, while keeping the Trotters to only first base. At the top of the second MAC was able to sneak in one more run before Plains was able to strike them out.     The Noxon-Thompson Falls Red Devils faced the Ronan Chiefs falling 0-12. Swiftly the Chiefs were able to strike out the Red Devils while putting two runs on the board before the second inning.     The Thompson Falls Lady Hawks started the softball season on fire by defeating their first two competitors with the mercy rule, dispatching Troy and Plains in a week's time and in five innings or less. The Lady Hawks defeated Troy 12-2 in five innings last Tuesday in the first game of the season.     The Plains Horsemen and Trotters headed to Eureka to take part in the Good Friday Easter Bunny track meet last Friday. Starting the day Nicholass Hill proved his quick footedness, earning third place in the 100 meters with a time of 12 seconds. The team folded last week because of a lack of players, said Principal Ryon Noland, who added that it was not an easy decision.
