Gloria Jean Santora, age 83, passed away October 9, 2017 at her home in Spokane Valley surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Missoula, Mont., on November 2, 1933 to Virgil and Helen Hall. Jeanie grew up in Whitepine, Mont. She went to White Pine Elementary School and Thompson Falls High School. Jeanie worked for JC Penney's Department Store for 20 years as a merchandizing manager. In 1951 she married James Santora. For twenty-five years they raised three children, Russ, Ken and Debbie.
Jeanie's children and family were the focus of her life. Nothing made her happier than to be in the company of family and friends. The sudden death of her son, Russell, in 2003 had a devastating effect on her for the balance of her life. There is a joyous reunion in Heaven for Jeanie and Russ. Her selflessness was ever present in her lovingly taking care of her family, sister, Verna, and aunts, Lily and Rose. This tough Montana women was the most caring mom, daughter, sister, and niece that anyone could have had in their life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil and mother, Helen Hall, sister, Verna Hall, brother, Virgil Hall and beloved son, Russell Santora. She is survived by her children, Ken (Karen) Santora, Debbie (Kurt) Carlson, and sisters, Dorris (Don) Cameron and Dixie Vaught. Jeanie is survived by eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Oct. 17, 2017, at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home and burial was at Whitepine Cemetery on Oct. 18, 2017.
