Group offers free rides for veterans

Sanders County Veterans Transportation (SCVT), organized in 2012, has the sole purpose of raising money to purchase vehicles to transport veterans to their VA healthcare appointments free of charge. SCVT purchased three vehicles, in service in the county now, using money provided by Sanders County people. If one of those vehicles is totaled, or reaches its end-life at 250,000 miles, SCVT will have to provide the money for its replacement. When you donate to SCVT, your money will benefit Sanders County military Veterans. Donors can contact the treasurer at 827-9302, and you will be given a 501 (c) 4 number (DAV Department of Montana) for your tax-deductible donation.

Veterans, disabled or not, can schedule a ride to their VA scheduled appointments by calling the Local Area Coordinator (LAC) at 242-0217. If you wish to volunteer to drive the DAV vehicle, you can call the LAC to sign on.

Please remember, your SCVT support says "thank you" to our military veterans in a way your tax dollars cannot.
