Toastmasters sets open house

How does a member of Toastmasters International go from wallflower to speaker with power? From lacking drive to “I always strive,” from few accomplishments to confidence, from “I don’t dare to dream” to “I can lead that team?”

Thompson Falls Toastmasters will hold an open house next Thursday, Nov. 30 for community members to find out.

The open house is a demonstration meeting from noon to 1 p.m. in the meeting room of Whitefish Credit Union, 107 Pond Street, Thompson Falls. All are welcome to attend the “no pressure” event. Refreshments will be served.

“Toastmasters offers people so many tools to improve their speaking and leadership skills --it’s amazing,” said President Gigi Comer. “The program meets people at whatever skill level they are at. We learn as we go, and we have lots of fun, too.”

The mission of Toastmasters International is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. Worldwide, there are over 352,000 members, in 16,400 clubs, in 141 countries. Thompson Falls Toastmasters was chartered Sept. 20, 2005.
