Area churches plan holiday services

Church bells will be ringing, carols will be sung, and celebrations of Jesus’ birth will take place. Christmas church services are scheduled to take place throughout the county, welcoming everyone to join hands during this joyous occasion.

The following churches invite all to attend services.

Hot Spring Services

Father Jeffrey Benusa will hold Mass at 1:30 p.m., Christmas Day at Sacred Heart Mission, 220 Arlee St. S.

Plains Services

First Lutheran Church of Plains, presided by Pastor Seilhymer, 601 South 5th Ave., will hold services at 9 a.m. and later at 7 p.m., both on Christmas Eve.

Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 505 5th St., Plains, welcome everyone to attend service at 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Father Benusa will hold Christmas Day Mass at St. James Parish, 107 Meany St., at 11 a.m.

Nondenominational Plains Bible Chapel, located at 243 Compbest Creek Rd., will hold services Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.

Clark Fork Baptist Church Pastor Patrick Earhart of Clark Fork Baptist Church, 105 E. Lynch St., will hold a candlelight service at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Thompson Falls

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Carol Seilhymer, located at 611 Ogden Ave., will hold a two services Christmas Eve. The first will take place during the day at 11 a.m. For those looking for more ambiance, there will be a candlelight service beginning at 5 p.m. Lessons and carol singing will take place at 9 a.m. Dec. 31.

St. William Parish, 416 Preston Ave., will hold Mass at 7 p.m., Christmas Eve. Father Benusa will preside.

Pentecostal Church of God, Falls Chapel, 414 E. Haley Ave., will celebrate Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. Pastors John and Cheryl Chamblin welcome all visitors to help their congregation celebrate.

Thompson Falls Community Congregational Church, Pastor Matt Schraeder, located at 704 Preston Ave., will be providing a celebratory service Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.

Pastor Bob Crowder will be holding services at Thompson Falls Christian Church, on the corner of Church St. and Haley St. Two services will be available, Christmas Eve at 7 p.m., and Christmas Day at 11 a.m.

Pastor Charlie Denson invites all to rejoice at Gospel Mountain Assembly of God, 1120 W. Preston Ave. Service will be held Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. The following Sunday, a New Year’s Eve service will take place at 6 p.m.

Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1192 Mt. Silcox, will hold service at 11 a.m., Dec. 24. Presiding will be visiting Rev. Bruce Linderman.

Visitors and congregation members are welcome to celebrate Christmas at New Life Fellowship, attended by Rev. Irene Anderson on Christmas Eve day at 11 a.m. A Christmas program will follow this service. The church is located on Airport Road, east of Thompson Falls.

Belknap Services

Pastor John Hancock will direct Christmas Eve service in Belknap at the Whitepine Community United Methodist Church, 16 Whitepine Lane, at noon.

Trout Creek Services

Rocky Mountain Bible Mission’s Pastor Dan “Hap” Cheff will hold candlelight service Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. Cabinet Mountain Bible Church is located just east of Trout Creek on Highway 200.

Noxon/Heron/Clark Fork, Idaho Services

Father Benusa will hold Mass at Noxon Mission beginning at 4 p.m., Dec. 24.

Heron, Noxon and Clark Fork Methodist Church services will be held in Clark Fork on Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. 4 p.m. PST.
