Other teams may beat the Hot Springs boys basketball team on the scoreboard, but the Savage Heat will never surrender.
Coach Ricky DePoe and his six-strong boys team dropped a pair of games last week, falling 51-35 to Valley Christian in Missoula Thursday and 69-30 to Mission in St. Ignatius Friday.
The Heat return to action Jan. 5 hosting Noxon and will visit Plains Jan. 6 to open the 2018 portion of the schedule.
Against Valley Christian, Brandon Knudsen led the Heat with 13 points, Luke Waterbury added 10, Tyler Carr nine and Justin Salmi five.
Valley Christian put four players in double figure scoring as Casey Reimer scored 17 points and Trey Christiaens, Branson Becker and Aidan McCoy chipped in with 10 apiece.
In the Mission game, Salmi led the Savage Heat with 10 points, Carr scored seven, Sean Fisher six, Waterbury four and Knudsen three.
High-scoring Wacey McClure threw down 26 point to lead the Bulldogs to the win, Jacob Hugs added 12 and Lucas Vanderburg eight.
