It doesn’t seem all that long ago but 2017 is history now and it is time to start writing the book of 2018.
The 2017-2018 prep sports seasons resume this week after the holiday hiatus with a full slate of basketball games and wrestling matches.
In basketball, the Thompson Falls Blue Hawk boys and Lady Hawks got a jump on everybody else in Sanders County with a pair of games with teams from Missoula Loyola Tuesday, as the boys hosted the Rams and the girls played the Sacred Heart Breakers in Missoula that evening. Results from those games were not available at press time.
Both Hawk hoop teams will head to the far north Saturday for a District 7B boy-girl doubleheader at Eureka.
Back in Sanders County, the Hot Springs Savage Heat boys and girls will visit Noxon for games there Friday.
Also playing boy-girl doubleheaders, Hot Springs teams will travel to Plains Saturday, while Noxon’s squads will play at Arlee.
In wrestling, most of the Class A and B-C teams in western Montana will congregate in Ronan Friday and Saturday for the Ronan Duals Tournament, and Thompson Falls and Plains-Hot Springs are expected to compete in that meet.
The Blue Hawk grappling squad will also join host Superior, Mission-Charlo and Bigfork for a mixer match in Superior next Tuesday.
