Sheriff Tom Rummel, Clerk and Recorder Nichol Scribner and County Commissioner Carol Brooker have all filed for re-election in Sanders County.
Brooker has been a county commissioner in Sanders County for 23 years, and Rummel is in his first term leading the Sheriff’s Office. The county commissioners recently decided to combine the offices of County Sheriff and Coroner.
The commissioners also decided to combine the positions of Treasurer/Superintendent of Schools and Clerk and Recorder. Scribner has filed for this combined position.
According to Elections Deputy Bobbi Christenson, residents have until March 12 to file for county offices and conservation districts. February 12 is the deadline to file for special elections, including fire, hospital, park and water and sewer board, while school trustee nominations are due March 29.
