The filing deadline for special district elections was Feb. 12, and a candidate has filed in all but one opening in Sanders County.
In Dixon, Mary T. Zelonis was the sole filer for a three-year term on the rural fire board. Michael Hardin filed for Heron Rural Fire District’s open position, and Bruce White was the lone candidate to file for Hot Springs Rural Fire District. George Krueger filed for a three-year term on Noxon Rural Fire District, with James Henry filing in Plains/Paradise Rural Fire District and Philip Lewis filing for Thompson Falls Rural Fire District position. No one filed for the open Trout Creek Rural Fire District position.
For hospital representatives, Mike Perry and Gary Cremer filed for the Eastern Sanders County Hospital District, and Diane Mosley was the only person to file for the Noxon/Heron Public Hospital District opening.
Jean Manning filed for a four-year position with the Trout Creek Park Board, with Marvin Rehbein filing for the Eastern Sanders County Conservation District. Bill Naegeli and Sean Moran filed for Green Mountain Soil and Conservation District, and Joseph Campbell field as a candidate for the Noxon Water and Sewer District.
Write-in candidates will have until March 5 to file for special district elections. For county offices, filing deadline is March 12, and school candidates have until March 29 to file.
