Independently owned since 1905
The Sanders County Clerk and Recorder’s office recently made upgrades to the online document search system. Clerk and Recorder Nichol Scribner said the office has been working for two years to transition to the new system.
Records, including property deeds, mortgages and any other documents filed with the county Clerk and Recorder’s office from 1999 to current, are available online. The documents have been available online for several years, but the county recently switched systems, now utilizing the iDoc Market software.
Searching the documents is free, but a fee is charged for people who want to print the records. Subscriptions start at $5 for an hour, or $250 for a yearly pass with unlimited printing. Money from the subscriptions will go to the records preservation fund, to help keep the county up-to-date with records technology.
Scribner said that title companies and real estate agencies began using the service last week.
The public also still has the option of going into the Clerk and Recorder’s office at the Sanders County Courthouse and using the public access computer to search documents. A fee still applies for pages printed at the office.
Scribner said the Clerk and Recorder’s office is available to help users navigate the new system. For information, call (406) 827-6922.
