Plains golfers nearing end

The end is near.

Don’t look now but the high school golfing season is heading for its ending, and Plains coach Lisa Brown and her Fab Five team of freshmen will need to raise their games some if they hope to keep playing.

For Class C boys, that means shooting a 100 or lower and for the girls it means scoring 120 or lower in order to qualify for the State C tournament in Fairmont later this month.

The St. Regis Invitational to be played at Trestle Creek Thursday will be the final regular season tournament of the spring. After that, area Class C players will be given one more opportunity, again at Trestle Creek next Monday, to break the barrier and advance on to Fairmont.

Brown said the only tournament Plains had scheduled last week, at Eureka Thursday was, like so many other events this spring, weathered-out due to the inclement climes of western Montana this spring.
