Noxon grad retires from Air Force

Master Sergeant Keome L. Madden’s retirement ceremony was held on May 18th to celebrate her extensive career in the United States Air Force. She was born in Libby, to James and Bobbie Hilt, and grew up in Noxon with her brother and sister, Darrel and Gale. Madden graduated from high school in 1988 and went on to Columbia University but it wasn’t until 1998 that she decided to join the United States Air Force and was assigned to the 388 FW Munitions Flight. It was during that assignment she met her husband Travis and they were married in 1999.

In December of 2000 she was stationed in Guam and made Staff Sergeant. In late 2002 she and Travis welcomed their first child, Braedan. Within a week of his birth, typhoon “Pongsona” struck Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.

In 2007, they decided to move back home to Spokane, Washington, where she made Technical Sergeant. In late 2009 the two welcomed their youngest son Nicholas. She then traveled to Germany and spent four years touring Europe and making Master Sergeant. Madden finished her career by returning to her first duty station, Hill AFB, Utah.
