Over the Hill Gang goes scrambling

The Over the Hill Gang teamed up for a yellow ball three-man scramble Monday at River’s Bend.

Sinking the longest putt on No. 11 was John Pritzkau, and Jerry Neal took those honors on No. 12. Don Hanson got the long putt on No. 13, with Chuck Many’s putt winning on No. 15, Rick Kendall on No. 16, Mike Smith on No. 17 and with Gary Thompson hitting it on No. 18.

Dennis Gripp was closest to the pin in two on No. 10, and Darrel Torgrimson was closest on No. 14.

Ron Belger had the long drives on No. 18 and No. 15, while Barb Wooden drilled the long drive for the women on No. 18.

In a yellow ball scramble, one player from each team must play with a yellow ball per hole, and the yellow ball rotates between players.

The team of Dennis Gripp, Gary Thompson and Sam Burt shot the low gross of 33, followed by Reese Woolford, Ron Beaty and Chuck Manry in second with a 34, and Darrel Torgrimson, Jerry Neal and John Beckman in third with a 35.

In low net play of the yellow ball scramble, Rick Kendall, Don Hansen and George Krueger won with a 25. Scott Garr, Dave Garr and John Pritzkau were second with a 27, and Bary Moore, Ron Sharp and Dave Petteys rounded out the top three teams with a 28.

Four Hill Gang golfers scored chip-ins on Monday at the Bend: Ron Belger on No. 10, Reese Woolford on No. 16, Don Hansen on No. 14 and Sonny Janson on No. 18.
