Wild Coyotes break ahead of the pack

The Wild Coyotes broke loose from the pack and are now running scared but free, a little ways ahead of the rest of golf-hounds chasing them in Wednesday Night Men’s League play.

Proving once and for all you can’t tame wild dogs, the feral Coyote team of Dave Petteys, Kevin Sparks, Scott Pardee and Howard Morkert broke loose and shot down the low team gross of 172 to move three points ahead of Hagedorn Land Surveying in league standings.

The First Security Bank quartet of Bill Nolen, Ben Mummert, Michael Scharfe and Dan Whittenburg shot the low team net of 141 at scenic River’s Bend last week.

Mike Gilmore shot down the low individual gross of 38 and Pardee used his handicap to arrive at the low net of 32.

In individual hole play, Gilmore was closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2, Petteys put down the long putt on No. 3, Pardee put his tee shot closest to the pin on No. 5, Bary Moore stroked in the long putt on No. 6, Jase Miller hit the long drive on No. 9, and Paul Flemmer silenced the fairway crowd with the longest 55+ drive on No. 9.

Moore (No. 3) and Ron Sharp (No. 7) made chip-in shots part of their Wednesday night rounds.

The standings:

Wild Coyote 95.5

Hagedorn Surveying 92.5

First Security Bank 84.5

Whitefish CU 80.5

Moore Oil 78

Ron’s Running Dinos 70.5

Ty’s 67.5
