The Thompson Falls junior high Blue Hawks opened the football season with a 51-14 loss to visiting Mission at Previs Field Saturday.
Breck Ferris and Brandon Fisher scored the two touchdowns for coach Michael Allen’s young Hawks, Ferris on a pass from Elijah Ratliff and Fisher on a running play.
Hayden Hanks scored the Hawks’ other two points on a conversion run.
Ratliff completed 6 of 7 passes for 84 yards, Ferris had two catches for 52 yards, Fisher carried the ball 12 times for 49 yards, Hanks had 7 carries for 21 yards and Ratliff 6 carries for 21 yards.
In addition to the players already mentioned, Kaiden Robbins, Garth Parker, Max Hannum, Nick Tessier, Tyler Easley, Braxton Dorscher and Braeden Ferris are the other players for the Hawks, who host the Troy Trojans at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Brandon Fisher, sr., is the assistant coach to Allen, and Doug Willhite is the volunteer statistician for the team.
