Independently owned since 1905
In honor of Veterans Day, the history class of Noxon High School will again be putting on a special assembly to recognize those in the area who have served. Since Veterans Day falls on a Sunday this year, the school will hold the event Monday, Nov. 12, beginning 11:45 a.m. and ending around 12:25 p.m.
The class has sent out many personal invites to area veterans to join them at the school for the event. Although the assembly honors veteran, it is also an educational opportunity for students to physically see those who selflessly served the country and hear tales of days ranging from past wars all the way to present operations. Lighter stories from the antics of soldiers active during times of peace will round out the history that makes up the freedom the younger generation enjoys today.
“Although we’ve sent out many invites, we realize we have probably missed some area veterans,” said Noxon history teacher Bart Haflich. “Any area vets are welcome to attend the assembly and then stay for lunch at the school with the 7-12 grade student body.”
Those with any questions can call Haflich at 847-2442 ext. 302.
