Falls Little Guys loosen up for season at Bonners Ferry meet

The local Little Guy wrestling season kicked off with a tournament in Bonners Ferry Saturday, and several Falls Little Guys competed in the Idaho meet.

Thompson Falls coach Mike Thilmony, who is being assisted by Dan Sundstrom, Ashley Block, John Mosher and several high school wrestlers, said the numbers for the Bonners Ferry tourney may have been low due to soccer commitments, but that he expects participation numbers to increase in the coming weeks.

Thilmony said local Little Guy grapplers are headed to a tournament in St. Maries this Saturday, that several wrestlers will compete in Denver Nov. 3, that the Idaho League Championships will be wrestled in Sandpoint Nov. 10, and that the Bigfoot Battle in Spokane will go down Nov. 17.

In Bonners Ferry, Brandon Fisher took first place in the Middle School – Heavyweight division, Elijah Ratliff placed second in Middle School – 125, Max Hannum was third at MS-125, Paul Sundstrom placed second at Novice – 65, Weston Block took third at Intermediate – 55, Andrew Sundstrom fourth at Int-95, and Chase Geigling fourth at Beginner – 55.

Wrestling Pre-Bantam, Hartleigh Block went 2-1 in her matches.
