Probation for faulty UI claims

On Tuesday, District Court Judge Deborah "Kim" Christopher sentenced Marvin Burrell to five years probation for fraudulently recieving more than $11,000 in unemployment benefits from the state of Montana.

Court documents alleged that from December 2015 to June 2016, Burrell reported zero earnings. Audits of that time period showed that Burrell was working for Riverside Contracting, Inc., at the same time, according to charging documents.

Judge Christopher ordered Burrell to pay restitution in the amount of $11,966.88.

Also in District Court on Tuesday, Jennifer Flemmer entered not guilty pleas to two drug charges. Flemmer is charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and a misdemeanor of criminal possession of drug paraphenalia stemming from a traffic stop on Nov. 17. During the incident, a pipe was found in Flemmber's purse, according to charging documents, and the pipe tested positive for methamphetamine.

Tyrell Moyer entered not guilty pleas to two count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, both felonies, and one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. The charges were brought after a traffic stop on Nov. 15.
