Heat are playing hard, coach not complaining

As long as the effort is there, Hot Springs Savage Heat girls basketball coach Richard Jackson is not going to complain.

And he was not complaining early this week while talking about last week’s games – a 49-26 loss to Arlee in Arlee Thursday and a 47-18 win over Two Eagle River in Hot Springs Thursday.

“The score from the Arlee game in no way indicates how we played,” he said. “We played with absolute hustle and never gave up at any point. Arlee is a good team but I cannot complain about my girls, they gave it their all.”

in Arlee with 13 points and eight rebounds, Sydney Jackson scored eight points and passed out four assists, Brianna Gray added three points and Sage Jackson and McKennzie Cannon one point each. Sage Jackson and Cannon also had four steals apiece.

Alyssia Vanderburg and Louetta Conko-Camel paced Arlee with 18 and 13 points apiece.

Coach Jackson went to his bench early and often in the easy win over Two Eagle.

Sydney Jackson scored 11 points and grabbed three steals, Cannon was good for 10 points and seven rebounds, Christensen, Gray and Danielle Graham scored six points each, and Sage Jackson five.

Gray also dished out three assists.

The Heat will wrap up play before the holidays with a pair of non-conference games, hosting Mission Tuesday (results were not available) and playing Valley Christian in Missoula Friday.

“We’re on full throttle this week,” coach Jackson said. “We plan on going out and playing hard against both teams.”
