Really? Mr. Blackstone are you really challenging us to hunt for and find facts to prove you wrong regarding the border security issue? That shouldn’t take long, and I accept the challenge. As the kids would say, “Wait for it!”
In the meantime, I guess you will only hear the ‘unicorns and rainbows’ speaking as I say my piece. I am truly offended by your take on the matter. Thousands of people are unable to feed their families, are unable to afford their medications, cannot pay their vehicle insurance or buy gas due to the government shutdown. Instead of trying to help anyone, you’ve chosen to use your column, your voice, to pitch a political agenda. Could you not have better used your time and column to research and list humanitarian organizations, food banks, restaurants and churches who are willing to help people (human beings, just like yourself)? Your column known as “Street Smart” has become increasingly offensive to me.
I pray I am not alone in Sanders County. I truly hope there are others who will open their minds and their hearts to help others in need. People, no matter their skin color, their religion, their sexuality, or wherever they live, are still people. Many are in need of help. I challenge you, Mr. Blackstone, to help just one.
Jeannie Burke,
Thompson Falls
