Woman's Club helps communities

In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service, the General Federation of Women's Clubs FWC Thompson Falls Woman's Club assembled and distributed Vial of Life kits. Each kit contains three items: a form for your medical conditions, allergies, medications, emergency contacts, etc. that you complete; a baggie or pill bottle with the Vial of Life label in which to store the form on or in your refrigerator; and a decal for your front door directing first responders to look for the Vial of Life.

According to vialoflife.com, the first thing first responders want to know is a patient's list of medications. By putting the Vial of Life decal on your door, first responders will know to look for the kit.

The kits are free. The Woman's Club distributed them at Harvest Foods, and are now available at Doug's Drug. Club members will also be holding a second distribution February 14 at Harvest Foods. Additional forms and decals may be downloaded from vialoflife.com for other members of your family. Let the Vial of Life speak for you when you cannot.

GFWC Thompson Falls Woman's Club was formed in 1921 and has a history of serving the community in a variety of ways. To learn more, attend a meeting the first Saturday of the month, 11:30 a.m. at the Rimrock. The next project is the reading initiative called Running Start and is conducted in the Thompson Falls Elementary School during April.
