Churches plan Easter services

Sanders County churches announced their services for Holy Week. Easter Sunday is April 21.

Hot Springs

Father Jeffrey Benusa will hold Mass of the Resurrection at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Mission, 220 Arlee St. S.

Plains

First Lutheran Church of Plains, presided by Pastor Carol Seilhymer, 601 South 5th Ave., will hold a Maundy Thursday dinner and worship at 6 p.m. on April 18. Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m., and Easter Prayer Vigil will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Easter celebration with Holy Communion is set for 11 a.m. Sunday.

Plains Alliance Church, 505 5th St. in Plains, will hold a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday, the church will have an 8 a.m. sunrise service at the pool park, breakfast at the church at 8:30 and the regular service at 10.

Plains Methodist Church’s Pastor Jason Cox will begin Easter Sunday Service at 9:30 a.m. at the church, 210 Meany St. And 7:30 a.m. at the Paradise cemetery, followed by a potluck breakfast at the fellowship hall next to the Paradise United Methodist Church.

Father Benusa will hold Good Friday service at 3 p.m. April 19 at St. James Parish, 107 Meany St. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Sunday at St. James Parish.

Pastor Patrick Earhart of Clark Fork Baptist Church, 105 E. Lynch St. (across from Fred Young Park),will hold a Sunday breakfast at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30.

Thompson Falls

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Carol Seilhymer, located at 611 Ogden Ave., will have a Maundy Thursday dinner and worship service at noon on April 18. Good Friday service is set for 5 p.m. They will hold a combined Easter Vigil at 6 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Plains. Easter celebration with Holy Communion is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Falls Chapel will have service on Good Friday at 7 p.m. at the church, located at 404 Haley Ave. Services on Easter Sunday will begin at 10:30 a.m.

St. William Parish, 416 Preston Ave., will hold Holy Thursday service at 7 p.m., as well as Easter Vigil Saturday at 9 p.m.

Thompson Falls Community Congregational Church, 704 Preston Ave., has scheduled a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. The community is welcome to join at normal Sunday services at 10:45 a.m.

At Thompson Falls Christian Church, Pastor Bob Crowder will lead Easter Sunday service at 11 a.m. at the church, located at the corner of Church St. and Haley St.

Open Door Baptist Church, on Tradewinds Way east of Thompson Falls, will have a regular Sunday service at 11 a.m.

Gospel Mountain Assembly of God presents a sunrise service Easter Sunday at 7 a.m. on the Gallatin Street Bridge. That will be followed by an 8 a.m. pancake breakfast and the regular morning service at 9 a.m.

First Baptist Church, led by Pastor Jeff Phillips, will meet at 8 a.m. by the Clark Fork River below the church at Broad Street and Maiden Lane, for a sunrise service. Breakfast will be served at the church at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 9:45 and regular service at 11.

Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1192 Mt. Silcox, presents Palm Sunday services at 9:30 a.m. on April 14. Maundy Thursday service is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 18, with Good Friday service at 6 p.m. on April 19. Easter Sunday services will be begin at 9:30 a.m.

Whitepine

Pastor Jason Cox will direct Easter service at noon on Sunday at the Whitepine Community United Methodist Church, 16 Whitepine Lane. A potluck lunch will follow church.

Trout Creek

Cabinet Mountain Bible Church located at mile marker 30 on Highway 200, will conduct a Sunrise Service together with Trout Creek Community Church at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the Trout Creek boat dock. The church will follow with its normal service at the church at 11 a.m.

Trout Creek Community Church, at 11, Larch Street, will also hold its normal 11 a.m. service on Easter Sunday.

Noxon/Heron

Father Benusa will hold Mass at Noxon Mission at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.
