Duncan and Kaylee are going to the State C golf tournament.
Plains High School golfers Duncan Chisholm with the boys and Kaylee Cole with the girls have qualified for next week’s State C tourney at Double Arrow Golf Course in Seeley Lake, coach Lisa Brown reports. The State C will be held Tuesday and Wednesday after practice rounds are allowed Monday, Brown said.
Chisholm carded a 97 and Cole a 117 at the St. Regis Invitational at Trestle Creek last Thursday to lead Plains golfers in that event.
Backing up Chisholm with the boys, Nick Gumm shot a 139, and backing Cole with the girls Grace Horton posted a 139, Mia Loberg and Taylor Angle each scored 148, and McKenna O’Lexey checked in at 169.
Bagging the trip to the State C golf tourney was only part of Chisholm’s big weekend, Brown said.
“Duncan also qualified for a national archery tournament at a shoot in Livingston Sunday,” she said, “and that’s a pretty big deal, too.”
The 2019 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships will be held June 23-28 in Grand Island, Nebraska, at the Heartland Public Shooting Park, and Chisholm has punched his ticket for that event, as well as for the State C golf tourney next week.
