Feed-N-Fuel threw fuel on the fire and Tom “The Hammer” Holleran put down the only chip-in to highlight action in Tuesday Night Men’s league play at River’s Bend last week.
With Feed-N-Fuel golfers Steve Clark, Dave Petteys, Mike Gillmore and Doug Gunderson registering the low team net of 176, the dirty golf war between Double H Dirt Works and the rest of the league has been turned up a notch, although those Dirt Works players still lead league standing with 88.5 team points.
Sitting in second with 85 points, Shanks a Lot shankers Dave Garr, Jens Jantzen, Charlie Hooten and Ron Beaty kept up the pace by copping low team net honors with a collective round of 145. Feed-N-Fuel jumped up two spots in the standings with their big week.
Clark shot the low individual gross of 41 and Jantzen calculated the low individual net with a well-adjusted 33.
In hole play, Steve Anderson was closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2, Sean Kelly knocked in the long putt on No. 3, Tom Kirkland was closest to the pin off the tee on No. 5, Kevin Sparks converted the long putt on No. 6, Scott Garr was closest to the pin on No. 8 and Gillmore belted the long 55-and-over drive on No. 9.
Holleran put the hammer down on the day’s lone chip-in on No. 8, adding to his epic golfing story which only becomes better upon the retelling.
