What can be better than camping out and doing good for others?
That's what a church group of teenagers have been doing all week in Noxon as they have every year for the past decade.
The Wabash Presbyterian Church of Auburn, Washington, arrived in Noxon and joined with other members of the Noxon Baptist Church for a week of helping out people in Noxon. The group repaired a roof for a senior citizen, painted the local church and recreational equipment at Pilgrim Creek Park, split wood, washed windows for the elderly and did landscaping for residents. Although this may seem like work, for the teenagers said it was gratifying.
Sponsored by the Baptist Mountain Church at Noxon, the teenagers and their leaders provided dinner under the shelter every night for no cost to community members and Vacation Bible School for grades K-5. The fun included inflatable bouncy toys for kids. The group met at Pilgrim Creek Park and were transported to different sites each day for sports camps, which were also free. Time out at the pond was good enough payment for their work. Wednesday night baptisms in the river were accompanied by a potluck. During the meals, teens shared their conversions to Christ.
