Just another day of golfing fun in the sun for the friendly players of the Over the Hill gang.
Sanders County’s most gregarious golfers gathered once again at River’s Bend Monday and another great day was had by all.
Feeling the grooviest of all, Rusty Sharp challenged par the most with the low men’s gross of 42. Don Hansen and Lana Nolen factored in their handicaps for the low men’s and women’s net scores.
In other play of the day, Scott Garr was closest to the pin in 2 on No. 1, Wally Gibe put down the long putt on No. 2, Sam Bernhardt rolled in the long putt on No. 3, Bruce Haflich converted the long putt on No. 4, John Beckman was closest to the pin off the tee on No. 5, Ron Belger busted the long 70+ drive on No. 6 and the long men’s drive of the day on No. 9, Dave Petteys sent the long putt on No. 6 into the hole, Nolen scored the long putt on No. 7, John Pritzkau earned long putt honors on No. 8, Rick Kendall made the long putt on No. 9, and Barb Wooden smashed the long ladies’ drive on No. 9.
Haflich and Rees Wooford (No. 1), Dennis Gripp (No. 2) and Sharp, Mike Normandin and Bary Moore (No. 7) all made chip-in shots.
Earning big bucks for making par on No. 2 were Randy Hojem, Ron Beaty, Dave Garr and Jens Jantzen.
If the weather is suitable and the bodies are willing, Over the Hill players will again gather at the Bend next Monday morning.
