MLB player to visit Plains

It’s not often that Sanders County kids get to meet Major League Baseball (MLB) players. The closest MLB teams are the Seattle Mariners and the Colorado Rockies, both hundreds of miles away.

Sanders County will have a unique opportunity to meet a legend this Saturday, as retired MLB player Dick Green will be in Plains 10-11 a.m. at Field #3 on the Amundson Sports Complex. Green played second base for the Kansas City and then Oakland Athletics for 12 seasons. The team won three consecutive World Series championships in his final three seasons and Green won the Babe Ruth Award in 1974.

Baseball enthusiasts of all ages are invited to come meet Green in Plains Saturday.
