The first home win is always a sweet one.
Coach Jesse Butcher and her Plains Trotters kicked off the home portion of their 2019 home volleyball schedule with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-21 win over Sanders County rival Noxon in Plains Saturday.
The Trotters will now play four matches in the space of eight days. That stretch of matches was set to begin with a match against Troy in Plains last Tuesday (results were not available at press time), the Trotters will visit Hot Springs for a key District 14C match Thursday, Plains will take on Clark Fork Superior Saturday and finally, will trek to Thompson Falls next Tuesday for a non-conference friendly with the rival Lady Hawks.
One of the best-known volleyball spikers in the 14C ranks, Kylee Altmiller led the Trotters to the win over Noxon with three kills and three blocks, Cree Lulack also hit three kills, Izzy Butcher put up 10 set assists, Miera Loberg smacked seven service aces and Audrey Brown came up with eight digs.
