This is not the tournament that the Hot Springs Savage Heat really want to win, but they will gladly take it anyway.
Coach Alisha Pablo and her Savage Heat played great all day and won the Arlee tournament Saturday, taking down District 14C rival Charlo 8-15, 16-14, 16-14 in the championship. The Heat had avenged an earlier loss this season to Sanders County foe Plains by defeating the Trotters in the tourney semifinals earlier in the day.
“The tournament was great! The girls played well together, had a lot of fun,” Pablo said, “and proved to themselves that they could be a tough team to beat.”
As sweet as winning the Arlee tourney is, the real tournament that the Heat want to desperately win is the 14C tourney, which will be played in Noxon Oct. 1-2.
This week, the Heat were to have hosted Lincoln Tuesday (results of that match were not available at press time), will travel to Seeley-Swan Saturday, and to Missoula for a match with Valley Christian next Tuesday.
