Young Hawks blast Troy

The Thompson Falls Junior High Blue Hawks football team defeated the Troy Trojans 42-0 in Troy Saturday.

Hawk coach Chadd Laws said his Falls boys played very well after losing their first game of the season to Mission in Thompson Falls two weeks ago.

“We saw marked improvement from all our kids in this game,” Laws said. “Our offensive line did a great job of blocking and our backs were able to take advantage of that, and we also did a great job of tackling on the defensive side.”

Laws said Justin Haagenson and Hayden Hanks keyed the Thompson Falls offensive push on the line, and backs Braxton Dorscher and Max Hannum were able to run the ball effectively.

Hannum, Haagenson and Hanks were also prime time defensive players and Dorscher and Ian Meyers each pulled down pass interceptions in the game. Laws offered that Dorscher also played very well at the quarterback position for the Hawks.

Doug Padden is serving as Laws’ assistant coach with the young Blue Hawks.
