The Hot Springs Savage Heat volleyball team hammered out two more Western C wins last week, taking down Lincoln 25-10, 25-14, 25-4 in Hot Springs Tuesday (Sept. 24) and spiking Seeley-Swan 13-25, 25-10, 25-16, 25-14 in Seeley Lake Saturday.
“We had a very solid week of volleyball, especially against Lincoln,” coach Alisha Pablo said. “Every contact they had was phenomenal, they mixed it up, everyone was hitting really well and our passing game was top notch.”
McKennize Cannon clobbered eight kills and blocked two shots in that match, Katelyn Christensen executed seven kills, Sydney Jackson dished out 21 set assists, Lily Winn contributed six aces and three blocks, Brianna Gray rifled three aces, Sage Jackson had 12 digs and Savannah Roosma eight.
Sage Kamps hit nine digs and nine assists to pace Lincoln.
The Heat started slow but finished fast in Seeley Lake Saturday.
“McKennize really helped us out with her serving,” Pablo said. “Katelyn and Savannah came up big for us at the net, Sage passed the ball accurately and Sydney’s smart setting kept it all flowing. The girls are playing very well together right now and having a lot of fun.”
Christensen led the Heat at the net with eight Ks and five blocks, Sydney Jackson passed off 17 assists, Cannon shot down 12 service aces and blocked four shots, and Sage Jackson had a team-high 17 digs.
Sariah Maughan hit five assists, three aces, nine digs and four blocks to lead Seeley-Swan.
Up this week, the Heat were to have played Valley Christian in Missoula Tuesday (results were unavailable), will host Darby Saturday and Hot Springs next Tuesday.
“It’s homecoming week so that means a lot of excitement and hyped-up girls,” Pablo said. “We just need to keep communicating well out there, serve the ball tough and move the hits around.”
