Independently owned since 1905
The Sanders County Treasurer's Office is prepping for a remodel that county treasurer Nichol Scribner says should help keep wait times down.
Starting next Thursday, Feb. 13, a local contractor will be working to move the treasurer's office workstations up to the windows, instead of having desks away from the windows, Scribner said. Construction is expected to last at least three business days.
During the renovation project, two temporary workstations will be set up in the courthouse across the hall from the treasurer's office. Scribner said they will have signs up directing people.
"We want to encourage people that if they need to renew, you may want to get it done this week or wait until after the remodel is complete," Scribner said.
One of the new workstations will also be handicapped-accessible.
Scribner said she has been thinking about the remodel since she ran for office in 2018. She said all of the service will be done at the counter after the renovation is complete, saving time for her staff and customers.
"We appreciate everyone being patient during the remodel. It will be much more conducive for customer service when complete," Scribner said.
