Keeping cities clean falls on everyone
Last week, a reader stopped in with a bag of trash he collected between the two access ramps in Thompson Falls. It doesn't take long to get a pile if you pick up trash during a walk.
With spring comes the melting of snow (usually) and the reveal of trash that has collected along roadways and trails. Beautification Days in Thompson Falls is coming up in April. And as you'll read in this week's Ledger, communities received grant funding for improvement projects. Committees and local governments are working to make our communities better.
Even with these efforts, it's important for everyone to do their part to help keep Sanders County clean. Not littering seems like a common sense thing that you wouldn't have to remind people of, but after seeing the bag of trash picked up by the reader last week, a little reminder would be good.
No one wants to constantly look at trash along the road or on trails. We love having clean communities, and everyone should help keep them that way.
