Wednesday night players finally visit River's Bend

Wednesday night golf, why not?

The Wednesday Night Men’s League met up at River’s Bend for the first time this season – at socially acceptable distances from each other, of course – and had some fun with it on opening night last week.

The First Security Bank team of Mike Baxter, Ben Mummert, Mike Scharfe and Bill Nolen posted the low team gross (170) while the Ty’s team of John Mosher, Tyler Bates and Jesse Mosher (the fourth player’s score for Ty’s was determined by a blind draw) carded the low team net of 145.

Ryan Ostwald led the Wednesday men in to the idle clubhouse with a 39 for low individual gross honors and Scharfe earned low net with a 32.

Ty’s leads the team standings with 25 points and First Security Bank is second at 22.5.

In hole play, Ostwald was closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2 and closest to the pin off the tee on No. 8, John Torres rolled in the long putt on No. 3, Paul Flemmer was closest to the pin on No. 5, Bernie Groshong downed the long putt on No. 6, Baxter plastered the long drive of the evening on No. 9, and Rick Hagedorn smashed the long 55+ drive on No. 9.

Rusty Sharp (No. 3) and Torres and Steve Clark (No. 4) counted chip-in shots as part of their rounds.

The standings:

Ty’s 25

First Security Bank 22.5

Hagedorn Surveying 21

Moore Oil 21

Wild Coyote 19

Whitefish CU 19

Ron’s Running Dinos 17.5
