Easy Street Auto Works makes it look so easy

by John Hamilton

It all seems so easy for the Easy Street Auto Works golfers – show up at River’s Bend on Tuesday night, play winning golf, and let the honors rain down.

Dodging the heavy rainstorms that have flooded the Bend bunkers recently, turning them into impromptu water hazards, the Easy Street big easies – Dave Garr, Ron Beaty, Charlie Hooten and Rusty Haggard – put together the low gross round of 176 to stay in first place in league standings last week. Beaty led the league leaders into the clubhouse with the best individual gross of 40.

Bear Muscle Fitness golfers Rick Hagedorn, John Mosher, Cody Mosher and Steve Fairbank shot the low team net of 150, with Cody Mosher grabbing low individual net honors with a 34. Cody not only went low net, he also landed an eagle on No. 6, a rare bird indeed at River’s Bend.

Easy Streeters and eagles aside, Beaty was closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2 and rolled in the long putt on No. 3, Steve Clark was closest to the flag off the pin on No. 5 and Dave Garr was closest to the pin on No. 8, Hagedorn drilled the long putt on No. 6, Caleb Bates went sputnik sending the long drive into orbit on No. 9, and Russ Yeager’s moon-shot was the longest 55+ rocket launched on No. 9.

Hagedorn dumped into two chip-ins to lead the off-the-green charge, putting one down on No. 2 and finding the bottom of the cup again on No 7, Tom Holleran got chippy on No. 7 as well, and Hooten put one in on No. 9.

Although the Tuesday men were able to get in their weekly rounds, the Wednesday Night Men’s League was rained out last week.

The Tuesday league standings:

Easy Street Auto Works 71.5

Sparky’s Gutter Time 66

Big Sy Pantry 63

Bear Muscle Fitness 60

Feed-N-Fuel 58

Double H Dirt Works 55.5

Lakeside Motel 55

Internet Kitchen 51
