Not so fast, Whitefish Credit Union golfers!
The Wednesday Night Men’s League standing tightened up significantly last week as Hagedorn Land Surveying shot the low team gross of 171 and team Wild Coyote carded the low team net of 149.
As a result of last week’s hot and heavy action at River’s Bend, Whitefish Credit Union’s second-half league lead was reduced to only 1.5 points over Wild Coyote as the season winds down.
Ryan Ostwald, Paul Flemmer, Rick Hagedorn and Bernie Groshong canvassed the course for Hagedorn last week and Gary Thompson, Steve Clark, Dave Petteys and Rick Kendall carried the clubs for Wild Coyote. Ostwald shot the low individual gross of 38 for the week while Petteys posted the low net of 34.
In hole play, Dan Kier was closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2, Ben Mummert chased in the long putt on No. 3, John Torres was closest to the pin on No. 5, Randy Hojem said goodbye to the long putt on No. 6, Michael Scharfe clubbed his tee shot closest to the pin on No. 8, Mark Terrazas clobbered the long drive on No. 9, and Ron Beaty hit the other long drive, the one for those driving over 55, on No. 9.
Mummert (No. 15) and Groshong (No. 16) were the only two to score chip-in shots during last week’s Wednesday night round.
The second-half standings:
Whitefish CU 70.5
Wild Coyote 69
T-R-L 64.5
Hagedorn Surveying 61
Ron’s Running Dinos 60
