Almost living up to their team names, Ron’s Running Dino’s ran out to one of their best rounds ever, adding up a 164 to grab low team gross honors in Wednesday Night Men’s League play at River’s Bend last week.
Dan Kier, Bruce Streling, Jesse Mack and Marc Terrazas did the high-octane, low-gross running for Ron’s, while Wild Coyote golfers Gary Thompson, Dave Petteys, Howard Morkert and Steve Clark collected low team-net honors with 139.
Ryan Ostwald carded 37 for low individual gross honors while Morkert used his handicap to arrive at the low net of 31.
In the second half race for the league lead, Whitefish Credit Union still leads with 133 and Wild Coyote is a close second at 133.5. The Dino’s climbed into the race with their big night and sit in third at 132.5.
In other Wednesday highlights, Paul Flemmer was closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2, Terrazas scored the long putt on No. 3 and blasted the long drive on No. 9, Bruce Sterling was the boss on No. 5 with the tee shot closest to the pin, Randy Hojem won the long-putt sweepstakes on No. 6, Kier stuck his tee shot closest to the pin on No. 8, and Jesse Mack warmed up for his induction into the Bend hall of fame with yet another 55+ long drive on No. 9.
Steve Fairbank (No. 11), Morkert (No. 12) and John Mosher (No. 18) all made chip-ins shots.
