So long, 2020? Maybe not just yet
The other morning I went to search for something on the Internet. I typed "how many days" and Google automatically finished with "until the end of 2020." That's not what I was searching, but that's how I feel about 2020. Can it just be over already?
I joined the Thompson Falls Chamber board recently and we're already planning Christmas on Main Street festivities. I'm so excited to play a role in Thompson Falls's holiday event Dec. 3-5. It's going to be festive and magical and awesome.
But then a friend reminded me how much I always talk about loving fall. It's true, it's my favorite season. Can you feel that? That bite in the air that makes your nose chilly. Sitting outside bundled up with coffee in the morning, and ended up in shorts for an evening walk. Getting ready for hunting season. Decorating the house in shades of orange and brown.
I also play this game where I count how long until the days start getting longer. As of Tuesday, we have 83 days until the Winter Solstice.
But for now, as we roll into October, I'm going to do what my friend says. Stop and smell the bonfires. Stop and smell the harvests. Enjoy the fall season before shoving it out the door.
I'm ready for 2020 to be over, but I'm going to slow down and enjoy my favorite season for awhile.
