Independently owned since 1905
To the Editor:
When election year comes around, I like to evaluate the candidates as if I were hiring them to work for me. Their experience and education prerequisites may vary, depending upon the position they seek.
This year we select a Commissioner for the Public Service Commission. This is one of the more technical selections I have to make. I’ve reviewed the qualifications of both candidates: Monica Tranel and Jennifer Fielder. The results brought Monica Tranel to the top because of her education with a Bachelors degree at Gonzaga University, a law degree from Rutgers, and experience with the PSC. She also exhibits bipartisanship, having worked in the late Senator Conrad Burns Washington D.C., office. It didn’t phase her when I told her I was Pro-Trump. This convinced me she has the ability to listen to reason, which is typical of an eastern Montana ranch girl. So, at this time, I ask Independents and Republicans to vote for Monica Tranel as the most qualified for PSC.
