Adding in small, unexpected treats is definitely worth the extra time and effort that will hopefully bring the giver and the recipient a little closer during these times. A batch of your famous chocolate chip cookies or small pouches of hot chocolate will make the holidays extra sweet. Locally sourced honey or handmade chocolates from a local bakery, would not only be appreciated by the recipient, but this will also allow you the opportunity to support the local small businesses in your town. Add a sentimental touch by bringing your store-bought gift to the next level and add in some priceless personal gifts. Photos of your family, handwritten letters, homemade greeting cards, and drawings or paintings from the kids, are all great ways to do this.
