Teams get busy

And now for the rest of the sports story in Sanders County.

Thompson Falls’ basketball and wrestling teams got out to an early start last weekend but most other teams in the county patiently bided their time and waited another week.

Well, the waiting is finally over as an avalanche of prep action is now on tap for the discerning sports fan.

The action starts in Hot Springs Thursday as the Savage Heat boys and girls host Clark Fork in a basketball doubleheader.

Hoop action reaches a crescendo Friday as all eight county teams will be on the court. In the C ranks, Plains teams will host Charlo, Noxon will host Troy and St. Regis will entertain Hot Springs, while Thompson Falls teams will play Mission, with the boys visiting St. Ignatius and the girls hosting the Lady Bulldogs.

Thompson Falls will host Eureka for a boy-girl doubleheader Saturday, while Plains teams visit Mission and Noxon squads go to Charlo. The Blue Hawk boys will visit Bigfork Tuesday, while both Noxon teams play at Troy, and the Thompson Falls girls C team hosts the Hot Springs JV.

See the Thompson Falls wrestling story for details on where and who the Hawks will be grappling with this week. Plains-Hot Springs wrestling does not officially begin until January 15 with a dual match at Arlee.
