Not spring sports as usual in 2021.
Fresh off the pandemic-cancelled spring sports season of 2020, the spring of 2021 cannot help but be better than that, and it already looks promising in comparison.
Although no one has any accomplishments from last spring to compare to or try to live up to, at least local prep athletes and teams are out there playing, practicing for an actual spring sports season now.
With schedules still largely in a state of flux at this writing, the 2021 prep spring sports seasons will kick off later this week.
Eureka will host a season-opening track and field meet Saturday, and teams from Thompson Falls and Noxon are expected to participate in that event.
The Thompson Falls boys and girls golf teams are set to tee off on their season at the Hamilton Invitational in the Bitterroot Valley Saturday.
The prep softball season will swing into action Tuesday as the Thompson Falls-Noxon Lady Hawks host the Plains-Hot Springs Trotters for a single Western B-C conference game. That game is set to start at 5 p.m. at TFHS’s field.
Look for more detailed information on local prep sports teams and schedules in coming issues of the Ledger.
