Over the Hill returns to River's Bend

It had been a long time coming, this round of Over the Hill golfing, but it was well worth the wait in retrospect.

As the cloud of COVID-19 slowly passes over, the locally famous Over the Hill gang golfers were finally able to return to River’s Bend Monday, after missing the 2020 season all together while staying all apart in the name of good health.

Returning to Hill play with a kick in their step and maybe an extra yard or two in their drives, Rick Kendall shot down the low men’s gross of 41, Dave Petteys factored in his handicap to arrive at the low men’s net of 31, and Lana Nolen carded the low women’s net of 36.

In hole play, Kendall was closest to the pin in 2 on No. 1, Petteys was good with long putt on No. 7, Dennis Gripp knocked in the long putt on No. 2, Randy Hojem converted the long putt on No. 3, Dave Garr rolled in the long putt on No. 4, Ron Beaty was closest to the pin off the tee on No. 5, Scott Garr grabbed long-putt honors on No. 6 and hit the long men’s drive on No. 9, Russ Wood stroked in the long putt on No. 15, Darrell “Torgy” Togrimson made the long putt on No. 8, and Bruce Sterling ran in the long putt on No. 9.

Twenty-five golfers toured the Bend with the Over the Hill gang Monday.
